Infant/Child Baptism

Pathway Church Baptism is an important symbol of God’s faithfulness to the children of believers. We baptize those new to Christian faith because of the Lord's command in Matthew 28:18-19. We baptize children, because of the family baptism of the Philippian jailer in Acts 16:32-34 , the teaching from the Apostle Paul that children of believers are holy in 1 Corinthians 7:14, and because of Acts 2:29 that God's promises are for believers and their children. Infant/child baptism marks the child as part of the community of faith and a Christian-in-training. Someday we hope and pray that children marked by baptism will make parents' faith their faith, take their own public stand for Jesus Christ (profession of faith/confirmation), and live their lives devoted to Jesus. Baptism is available for the child or baby of any Pathway member. Only one parent needs to be a member in order to request infant/child baptism.
