Go Home and Tell . . .

This coming Sunday will be a special day at Pathway as we have three young people taking their public stand for Jesus Christ! Join us afterward for a cake reception in the lobby.

This week’s message will take us to the Decapolis area of northern Israel where Jesus heals a man named Legion, so named because he was filled with a legion of demons. After his conversion, he wants to leave his pagan region of Decapolis to follow Jesus, but Jesus sends him home to be a witness. There is much here for our young people upon their profession of faith, and for us as we live in an increasingly pagan culture.

FAMILY NIGHT – This coming Wednesday, April 26. Dinner will be at 6:00 p.m. with Pink Night, Blue Night and Adult Programming starting at 6:45 p.m. This will be the last meeting of the church year. The Blue Night boys will meet to assemble model rockets and prepare them for launch. Launch day will be at a later date as yet to be determined. If you would like to participate, please contact Scott Balkema soon, (scottbalkema@pathwaycrc.org). Scott is asking for $10.00 per kit ordered. The adult programming topic will focus on parenting.

CONNECTIONS CLASS – If you are interested in membership at Pathway, this is the class for you. I will host. It will be a lively evening of getting to know others considering membership as well. This class does not constitute an obligation to join. It’s an inquiry into whether Pathway might be a right church home for you. Connections class is also a prerequisite to Profession of Faith. Class will be held Wednesday, May 17 at 7:00 p.m. Please RSVP to the church office if you would like to attend, (219) 558-0573 or pathwayadmin@pathwaycrc.org.

SAVE THE DATE:  CHURCH PICNIC – Back by popular demand….the church-wide summer picnic will be held Saturday, June 24 at Civic Park in St. John. Additional details to come. If you are willing to help plan this event please contact the church office at (219) 558-0573.

UPDATE ON LOWELL CHURCH PLANT –- Next Sunday the Hope Church steering team will be at Pathway for Pathway’s prayer send off. Hope is a new church beginning worship in Lowell on Sunday, May 7 at 4:00 PM. The church will rent the Nazarene Church directly behind the Stracks and Van Til grocery store in Lowell. YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND. The new church is a joint venture of the Classis Illiana Home Missions Committee with assistance from some CRC churches, but Pathway serves as the mother church. I will preach in the initial services. Pastor Barry and Kyle Vanderzee of Community Church in Roselawn are helping with administration and worship. Tom and Sue Krygsheld and Alan and Stephanie Cummings of Pathway are serving on the Hope Church steering team.
