God Is Good ALL The Time and More . . .

The "Testimony" Series is on round 2. This series is entitled "Puzzle Pieces: God’s Work in Brokenness." Sunday’s testimony is about God’s goodness in the midst of death. Come hear of God’s work and His grace in the valleys of the shadow. God is good!-----all the time!  If you missed last week’s very moving series, listen in at pathwaycrc.org

Quote for the Series: “Mental pain is less dramatic than physical pain, but it is more common and also more hard to bear. The frequent attempt to conceal mental pain increases the burden: it is easier to say ‘My tooth is aching’ than to say ‘My heart is broken’.”                                                          ? C.S. Lewis, The Problem of Pain

Quotes for this Week:  “The death of a beloved is an amputation.”                                                                                                           ? C.S. Lewis, A Grief Observed

“The time when there is nothing at all in your soul except a cry for help may be just that time when God can't give it:  you are like the drowning man who can't be helped because he clutches and grabs. Perhaps your own reiterated cries deafen you to the voice you hoped to hear.”                               ? C.S. Lewis, A Grief Observed

Listen carefully to Sunday morning’s testimony to hear what our grieving friend did that led to peace.?

We are looking for Sunday school teachers for this fall. Would you like to be a part of our new Sunday school ages PK – adult? Talk to Pastor Joel about opportunities. Ideally we’d like team teachers, two per class. This allows for flexibility of schedules and the joy of working together to bless a class of children or adults. We will likely use an adult curriculum that has a taped lesson. So, the adult leader would largely be a discussion facilitator. We’re planning high school catechism too. How about being a part? Thanks to all who have already committed or are thinking about teaching. We are off to a great staffing start.

Check Out My New Blog Entry:  The New Morality.

Morality relativism is all the rage today, but it’s disguised in language that sounds moral and loving. Read my blog on the danger of self-definition of morality.

In preparing my blog “Boy Today; Girl Tomorrow,” I wasn’t accurate to the North Carolina law that requires people to use bathrooms of their gender as established by their birth certificate. At press time, I thought the law required people to use a bathroom according to the gender of their body parts. I apologize for any confusion. However, I stand on my main point that one’s gender should be determined according to one’s body parts. If one wants a different gender, change the parts via surgery and hormone treatments, and then use the restroom of the new gender identity. This self-gender determination makes me wonder, “Will the day come when all public facilities will be equipped entirely of unisex, single use, private bathrooms?” That will be expensive and space intensive. Yet it appears that the bathroom usage of gender modest folk is running headlong into the LGBT agenda of gender self-determination.

Pathway signs:  Get your Pathway signs out. If you need a new sign or new wire posts, they will be available in the back of the auditorium on Sunday.

Pastor Joel is planning on having a Connections Class on Monday, April 18, 7:00 - 10:00 pm. He will explain membership at Pathway and answer any questions. It will also be a time to build new friendships. The class is a prerequisite to membership. However, becoming a member is not the expectation following class completion. Please call the church office at (219) 558-0573 to RSVP.

Are you new to Pathway? How about coming to a Newcomers' Dinner on Saturday, May 14 at 5:00 pm? (This is a Change in Date.) This is a simple, informal way to get to know others new to Pathway as well as meet our pastor. Children are welcome! Please call the church office at (219) 558-0573 to RSVP.

Save the date:  Pathway turns 10 in May!! Planning for our anniversary celebration on May 22 has begun. Details coming soon. You don’t want to miss this!!
