Pathway Update February 19, 2016
Author: February 19, 2016
Sunday is Day 22 and Message 4 of "Fifty Days of Transformation," a Spiritual campaign that utilizes the best of Spiritual growth tools; preaching of God's Word, combined with small group, and personal devotions.
This week I will preach on “How to Deal with How You Feel.” How does a Christian deal with emotions? On the one hand, they are God given. On the other, they are not an accurate instrument for judging right and wrong; and when uncontrolled, lead to chaos. So, how then should we understand and allow ourselves to feel, but not be controlled by emotion? The Bible has much to say on this topic. Let’s discover what it means to be transformed by Christ in the area of our emotions. This week’s memory verse is Matthew 11:28: 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Why memorize the Bible? Isn’t that a tiny child thing? Psalm 119: 11 reminds adults and kids, “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”
