Wishing you all a Blessed New Year!
This week’s message is titled “Baptism: Becoming Part of God’s People.” On Sunday, we will witness infant baptism. With baptism, this infant joins Pathway Church. How can this be? He’s a baby. He isn’t deciding to join. However, the Bible says, “Children of believers are holy.” On Sunday we explore the wonder, beauty, and Biblical roots of infant baptism. Welcome little child. May you see, experience, and respond to Christ through us, your family and church.
Next week Sunday we will celebrate Holy Communion. Please prepare by reflecting on this invitation: If Jesus is your Savior and Lord, and you recognize His sacrifice for you in the bread and the juice, and you’ve publicly stood for him (call it “profession of faith,” “confirmation,” or “adult baptism”) as He publicly hung for you, then join the feast. You are His. He is yours. And now He will whisper that confirmation again in the sacrament, by the Spirit, and through the word. Come to His feast for your spiritual nutrition.
On Wednesday, January 11 at 6:00 PM, we will enjoy fellowship at the Wild Game and Fish Potluck followed by a very entertaining live animal show at Crown Point Christian School. All food items will be clearly marked and we will include some “normal” food for the less adventurous. We are looking for wild game and/or fish dishes. If you are not able to prepare anything on the wild side, please bring a family favorite comfort food to share. Jim Nesci of Cold Blooded Creatures is providing the entertainment after the meal. It’s a great show and not to be missed! This is a great “first look” for non-Christians or friends looking for a church home. Pick up a poster/invite at the information table and pass along to a friend.
If you have photos of game or fish harvested during the 2016 season,
please send electronic versions of the photos to the office at PathwayAdmin@pathwaycrc.org.
