This Sunday we celebrate Palm Sunday. We shout "Hosanna" to the lowly figure riding a donkey into Jerusalem in the grandeur of humility. He will save, but not by military conquest; instead through the sacrifice of His life. Sunday’s final message in the Deadly Vices series is just the opposite of Christ's sacrificial humility which is worthy of our praise. "Vain Glory" is the excessive desire for praise on the part of humans. God is due the ultimate glory, but the vain glory lover wants the Savior’s glory for oneself.
“Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O LORD, and You exalt Yourself as head over all.” I Chronicles 29:11
